work will add about a day to the overall process.

DESCRIPTION:
Sheet Piles for the West Side of the New Ground Storaoe Tank
From the original design, the 24" water main running between the fence and the new ground storage tank was supposed to be relocated to allow
access for Precon's working road. The intent was to slope the area to get the required elevations we need at that time. Upon further exploration it was
discovered that the 24" water main is not in the working road footprint anymore and no longer has to be relocated. We also discovered a duct bank in
this area that was not shown on the drawings. It runs parallel with the fence and has been determined that it feeds power to the existing well house. To
protect these utilities during the new ground storage tank installation, sheet piles will be required to maintain the required slopes.
The intent is to install 114 lineal feet of sheet piles, approximately thirty feet tall, to protect the existing utilities. The sheet piles will be rented for nine
months to allow for the installation of the ground storage tank. Once the tank is leak tested, the area will be backfilled and the sheet piles will be
removed.
From not having to relocate the pipe, the city is saving $106,792.80. This value was deducted from our contract in change order #001, for the owner
direct purchase of the pipe materials. As the city is saving money from not having to relocate the pipe, we are asking for additional compensation for
the sheet piles required to protect the 24" water main that is no longer being relocated, as well as the existing well house power duct bank that was not
shown on the drawings.
We propose to provide the labor, materials, and equipment to install the sheet piles for a duration of nine months for the lump sum value of $76.522.18
!Seventy -Five Thousand Five Hundred Twenty-7Wvo Dollars and Eiuhteen-Cents).
After this cost, the city is still saving $31,240.20 from not having to relocate the pipe.

Per the discussion regarding RFI #12 on the existing versus new tank elevations, we discovered the existing 24" effluent pipe has a centerline elevation
