R-08-1561CITY OF CLERMONT RESOLUTION NO. 1561 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE PERSONNEL POLICY OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Clermont adopted the current Personnel Policy of the City of Clermont Resolution No. 705 dated February 26, 1991, and amended it by Resolution 739 dated October 8, 1991, Resolution No. 746 dated July 28, 1992, Resolution No. 771 dated September 24, 1992, Resolution No. 923 dated September 24, 1996, Resolution No. 1041, dated November 24, 1998, Resolution No. 1118, dated February 22, 2000, Resolution No. 1182, dated February 27, 2001 and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT that the City of Clermont Personnel Policy will be amended as follows: Section 1 Chapter 5, Section 2.D. Holiday Leave shall be amended as follows: All employees who meet the holiday pay eligibility requirements outlined in this section shall be paid holiday pay equivalent to eight (8) hours at the employee's regular rate of pay regardless of the number of hours the employee normally works in a shift. In the event that the observed holiday falls on the employee's regularly scheduled day off, the employee may request and, with Department Head approval, be given eight (8) hours off with pay in the same pay period, instead of being paid the holiday pay. All employees who meet the holiday pay eligibility requirements outlined in this section and who are required to work on the observed holiday as a regularly scheduled day, shall be paid for all hours worked on the holiday at the rate of one and one-half times the employee's regular rate of pay. The observed holiday for Monday -Friday workers is the day in accordance with Chapter 5, Section 2, B. and C. of this Policy. The observed holiday for all other employees is the actual holiday. Section 2 Chapter 6, Section 2.010 B. Transportation Costs shall be amended as follows: Employees who, with proper authorization, use their personal vehicles for official business may be reimbursed at a rate per mile, based on the standard federal mileage rate as set by the Internal Revenue Service. Section 3 This resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
