AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT AMENDING CHAPTER
6 "ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES", SECTION 6-2 "HOURS OF SALE" OF
THE CITY CODE CHANGING THE HOURS FOR THE SALE,
CONSUMPTION OR SERVING OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ON
SUNDAY BY OR AT LICENSED ESTABLISHMENTS TO BE
CONSISTENT WITH THE OTHER DAYS OF THE WEEK; PROVIDING
FOR CODIFICATION, SEVERABILITY, CONFLICT, AND EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, Section 6-2 of the Clermont City Code currently provides that alcohol maybe
sold, consumed or served, or permitted to be sold, consumed or served in any licensed establishment
between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m., on all days except Sunday, creating an inconsistency
in the City Code;
NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Clermont, Florida,
as follows:
Section 1.
That Chapter 6 "Alcoholic Beverages", Section 6-2 "Hours of Sale" is hereby amended to read as
follows:
Section 6-2. Hours of sale.
No alcoholic or intoxicating beverages maybe sold, consumed or served, or permitted to be sold,
consumed or served in any establishment holding a license under the state beverage laws
between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on any day.
Section 2. Codification.
The text of Section 1 of this ordinance shall be codified as a part of the Clermont City Code. The
codifier is authorized to make editorial changes not effecting the substance of this ordinance by the
substitution of "article" for "ordinance", "section" for "paragraph", or otherwise to take such
editorial license.

Section 3. Severability.
It is declared to be the intent of the City Council that, if any section, subsection, sentence, clause,
phrase, or portion of this Ordinance is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by a court of
competent jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent provision,
and such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions hereof.
Section 4. Conflict.
Any portion of the Code of Ordinances, City of Clermont, Florida or any ordinance or part thereof
in conflict with this ordinance is hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 5. Effective Date.
This Ordinance shall be published as provided by law and shall become law and shall take effect
on the date of its Second Reading and Final Passage.
PASSED AND ORDAINED BY the City Council of the City of Clermont, Lake County, Florida
