NATURE OF THE CHANGES:
Refer to the attached summary of changes (Attachment A).
Purpose of this Change Order:

Decrease the Contract Price to reflect cost reimbursement from the Contractor associated with
the following project modifications:
- Operations Building temperature control
Elimination of the chlorine feed system to Clarifiers No.3 and No.4
Elimination of the table and piping associated with the deletion of the Chemical
Feed Pump
- Modifications to the piping to the generator day tank and associated monitoring
well
- Revise the Operations Building electrical loop conduits to 3/4-inch
Revise the pressure gauges to be diaphragm type
Revise the Operations Building sanitary pipe material
Revise the UPS batteries to be lead acid
Eliminate the slide gate structural modifications at the Chlorine Contact Tank
- Modify the generator slab layout
Y Eliminate the TVSSs in VFD circuits
y Eliminate the below grade coating of the Ground Storage Tank
Reduce the width of the side walk around the Ground Storage Tank
Modify the AC ductwork, fire sprinkler piping, light fixture layout in the MEP space
in the Operations Building

Increase the Contract Price to reflect additional costs associated with the following project
modifications:

Y Revise an AC unit in the Operations Building from 10 ton to 15 ton
Modify the control system for the Filter air compressors
Modify the installation location of the 30-inch influent force main piping
y Modify the Operations Building exterior doors
- Modify the Operations Building
y Modify to the Operations Building lockers
Install gutters on the Operations Building
y Modify the Clarifier No.1 and No.2 Clarifier effluent piping
- Modify the monitoring system for the generator day tank
- Modify the routing of the electrical conduits at the existing Chemical Building
Modify the VFD enclosures to be installed in the existing Operations Building

East Water Reclamation Facility
Change Order No. 3
The East Water Reclamation Facility Expansion, Phase 2 project was awarded to Encore
Construction for a total contract price of $16,605,000.00. During the early phase of
construction, the City opted to direct purchase many of the larger pieces of equipment to
save the sales tax. Also, the contractor, the engineering design firm (Boyle Engineering) and
the City reviewed the plans for value engineering (VE) items to reduce the price of the
construction. Change Orders 1 and 2 resulted in a contract reduction of $2,948,408.00,
reducing the contract to $13,431,638.00.
Attached Change Order No. 3 is a group of modifications to the project which include
additions and deletions based on operational considerations. The resulting change order is a
credit of $2,228.00.
The original contract for the project was $16,605,000.00. Change Order Numbers 1 and 2
reduced the contract price to $13,431,638. Change Order Number 3 further reduces the
contract price to $13,429,410.00.
We request approval of Change Order Number 3 for the EWRF for a credit of $2,228.00.
