RESOLUTION
NO. 1042

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CLERMONT, LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING FEES FOR
THE STORMWATER ABATEMENT PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the City of Clermont desires to protect its lakes from the effects of
stormwater runoff; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clermont desires to promote and support the
• redevelopment of its traditional downtown; and
WHEREAS, new construction and expansion of existing structures would be
severely limited without the availability of off-site stormwater retention; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clermont has constructed a stormwater retention pond
to treat stormwater runoff from portions of the traditional downtown area; and
WHEREAS, the stormwater retention pond was constructed with additional
capacity to accommodate future development in portions of the downtown area; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to establish fees for participation in the stormwater
abatement program.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Clermont that a fee of $.35 per square foot of impervious surface created by new
construction will be assessed for participation in the stormwater abatement program.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT THE ABOVE SAID
FEES OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT ARE HEREBY ADOPTED AND BECOME
EFFECTIVE NOVEMBER 24, 1998.
