Adolphus Church DayCITYOF CLERMONT PROCLAMATION CITY OF CLERMONT MAYORAL PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, Adolphus Church has rendered service to this community which deserves special recognition; and WHEREAS, he is a teacher who has taught in Lake County more than twenty-five years and since 1967 has taught at Clermont Junior High School; and WHEREAS, he is known in this community for his positive influence on the young people of South Lake County by encouraging them to stay in school and find a way to go to college; and WHEREAS, Mr. Church is known to have said to the young people he taught "This world out here is for real, so do you best in school and be the best you can be"; and WHEREAS, besides teaching English and journalism he has coached basketball, women's softball and Little League and has been active with Cub Scouts; and WHEREAS, his dedication to the youth of our community has won for Mr. Church the respect and admiration of countless young people and the citizens of our community; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED that I, Robert A. Pool, Mayor of the City of Clermont, on behalf of the City Council and the entire community, recognize and 'acknowledge the dedicated service Adolphus Church has given our City. Mr. Church's contributions have made Clermont a nicer place for all of us to live and work and we extend a unanimous vote of thanks and appreciation to him for all he has done, and FURTHER, I do hereby proclaim November 17, 1991, as ADOLPHUS CHURCH DAY IN CLERMONT IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of Clermont to be affixed this 16th day of November in the year of our Lord nineteen hundred and ninety-one.
