Epsilon Sigma AlphaCITYOF CLERMONT PI~,OCLAMATION • MAYORAL PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, Epsilon Sigma Alpha is an International Sorority founded in May of 1929 whose purpose is to promote philanthropic activities, support educational and leadership programs and promote social activities within each sorority; and WHEREAS, there are 1, 200 Chapters and more than 20, 000 members serving the communities, states and nations of the world; and WHEREAS, the three Chapters in Clermont, Delta Nu founded thirty-three years ago, Alpha Eta founded seventeen years ago, and Beta Theta founded twelve years ago have consistently worked for the betterment of our City; and WHEREAS, the most recent in a long list of outstanding community projects includes contributions of time and money to Cooper Memorial Library, the Neighborhood Center, the Clermont High School and Junior High School Bands, the Humane Society, South Lake Memorial Hospital, Hospice of Lake County and the Drug Task Force to name a few; and WHEREAS, just this year over 100 ESA Clermont Chapter sisters and their husbands worked together to raise $5, 400 for the Gretchen Heinrich Fund, and in addition, Gretchen received $2,000 from the ESA Disaster Fund which is a fund established by sisters for sisters in time of great need. NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert A. Pool, Mayor of the City of Clermont, do hereby extend sincere congratulations to the sisters of Epsilon Sigma Alpha and urge all citizens to join me in this expression of our appreciation to this sorority for their unselfish dedication to the welfare of our community and commend the membership for their positive and successful educational and philanthropic programs.
