PROCLAMATION
Whereas, the Pig on the Pond, Inc. conducted its 7th Annual Sanctioned BBQ
Competition & Festival on March 11 and 12, 2005 at the Waterfront Park; and
Whereas, the attendance of more than 20,000 persons brought benefits and recognition
to the City of Clermont; and
Whereas, the community extends its appreciation to Cheryl Fishel, Lisa Jensen and Ron
Macfarlane for providing the leadership for the event that raises funds for scholarships
and education for our young people; and
Whereas, 51 high school seniors recently received scholarships from Pig on the Pond,
Inc. and all of the organizations participating in this year's event; and
Whereas, henceforth, the City Council of the City of Clermont declares the second
weekend in March to be proclaimed as the time for the Pig on the Pond Sanctioned BBQ
Competition & Festival.
Now, therefore, I, Harold S. Turville, by virtue of the authority vested in me as
Mayor, extend my personal congratulations and gratitude, as well as those of the City
Council and the community, to the South Lake Foundation for the benefits provided by
Pig on the Pond, Inc.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the
