HOME 4 THE HOLIDAYS MONTH
WHEREAS, the South Lake Animal League, Inc. is participating in the international Home 4
the Holidays pet adoption campaign;
WHEREAS, the staff and volunteers of the South Lake Animal League, Inc. have agreed to
devote their time, resources, and energy to the united effort to bring attention to orphaned pets;
WHEREAS, the South Lake Animal League, Inc. will work throughout the holiday season
and with a goal of finding loving, lifelong homes for orphaned dogs and cats; and
WHEREAS, the South Lake Animal League, Inc. has joined animal shelters and rescue
groups around the world with a goal of 300,000 pet adoptions during the holiday season; and
WHEREAS, the South Lake Animal League, Inc. is working in cooperation with animal
shelters and rescue groups around the world in partnerships with the Iams Company and Home 4 the
Holidays founder Helen Woodward Animal Center; and
WHEREAS, the Home 4 the Holidays pet adoption campaign not only saves the lives of
abandoned, abused and neglected animals in Clermont, Lake County, Florida. Home 4 the Holidays
has resulted in the adoptions of more pets than any other single pet adoption event in history;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Harold S. Turville, Jr. by virtue of the authority vested in me as
Mayor of the City of Clermont in the State of Florida do hereby proclaim the month of December
2004 as
HOME 4 THE HOLIDAYS MONTH
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of
Clermont to be affixed at Clermont this 9th day of November in the year of our Lord two thousand
and Four.
