National Records and Information Management Week•
Proclamation
WHEREAS, the management of information is increasingly critical to the industry, business
and government agency, and the systematic creation; distribution, storage and
retrieval of records are of critical importance to the continued and efficient
operation of any good organization; and
WHEREAS, organizations that continue to excel are those that recognize information as a
major resource and structure it as effectively as they do other assets; and
WHEREAS, constantly changing technologies provide an array of information storage
media from paper to electronic storage that require a concerted effort to assure
proper retention and management; and
WHEREAS, the Association of Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA,
International) was founded to promote professionalism and education in
Records and Information Management, and provide a forum for the exchange
• of information and establishment of standards within records management
practices; and
WHEREAS, ARMA, International is sponsoring National Records and Information
Management Week, March 31 through April 4, 1997,

March 31 through April 4, 1997 as:
NATIONAL RECORDS AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT WEEK
in the City of Clermont, and urge all citizens of our community to recognize this special
occasion.
