Head Start Awareness Month
WHEREAS, Lake Community Action Agency, Inc., anon-profit corporation since
February 6, 1966, directs the HEAD START PROGRAM in Lake County; and
WHEREAS, Head Start is a comprehensive child development program for low-income
children ages three through five, with full-day, full-year services.
WHEREAS, Head Start in September, 1999 Head Start will offer services to pregnant
mothers, infants and toddlers, and
WHEREAS, October 1998 has been designated as Head Start Awareness Month, in
recognition of the benefits and services provided to local communities by the Head Start
Program; and
WHEREAS, In recognition of Head Start Awareness Month, Lake Community Action
Agency, Inc. will host Head Start Awareness Week from October 19-23, 1998. This week-long
celebration will culminate with a luncheon at the Resource Center in Eustis on October 22, 1998
to recognize the Partners who have helped make Head Start a successful program serving the
children and families in Lake County
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Ken Norgmst, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor
Pro Tem of the City of Clermont in the State of Florida do hereby proclaim the month of
October, 1998 as
Head Start Awareness Month
in the City of Clermont, and urge all citizens; governments; businesses; and other civic, social
and professional organizations in Lake County to recognize and applaud the merits, benefits, and
accomplishments of the Head Start Program, and urge them to continue to support this program
and its endeavors to provide quality services to children and their families in Lake County.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City
of Clermont to be affixed at Clermont this 13th day of October in'the year of our Lord one
thousand nine hundred and ninety eight.
